Ski Area Tofana

The Tofana ski area is easy to get to in various ways - by car or skibus or conveniently from Cortina town centre with the Freccia nel Cielo cable car. The Tofana ski area slopes are a dream for expert skiers but also the ideal place to attempt your ‘first bends’ with the Pocol and Socrepes slopes being especially suitable for beginners and children.

Moving higher up, more expert skiers can try their hands at steeper pistes. These are the World Ski Cup slopes which will host the Cortina 2021 World Ski Championships. The landscape and the technical difficulty of these slopes make them some of the Dolomites’ most popular: Canalone, Vertigine and Olimpia delle Tofane, this latter elected Italy’s most beautiful by the SCI journal.

The Tofana ski area is part of the Superski Dolomiti ski area and the Lagazuoi 5 Torri area is easily accessible from here, and with it the Badia valley.

Not just skiing

And the outdoor activities available here are not simply downhill skiing. The area is especially well-suited to ski mountaineering and snowshoeing or straightforward and enjoyable walks on roads groomed by snow groomers and snowcats.
